Is there a Magic Bullet for Opiate Addiction?
Researchers are always looking for ways to help those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. A new medication, Vivitrol, is being used in certain treatment programs to help individuals that are addicted to heroin and prescription drugs. Some are calling it a “magic bullet,” but others are afraid the medication will give false hope. Most treatment professionals know that true recovery must be achieved through determination and hard work and through the retraining of the brain to function without the substance.
